Elizabeth Leamy: Shame on you.
ABC News: “Sneaky Credit Repair Pitches”
I’m not defending these creeps who pulled unsuspecting people into their “real estate” seminars and pitched them credit repair. Yes, they were probably rip-offs, asking for up-front huge fees to get people to sign up (illegal) and then promising improved credit (illegal).
But how can you say this: “The FTC says it has never seen a legitimate credit repair company…”
WTF? Seriously Elizabeth? What kind of research are you doing into “credit repair”. I know exactly what you’re doing. You’re looking up the FTC credit repair page, reading it, and then writing your story.
If the FTC has never seen a legitimate credit repair company, then they’d crack down on all of them, right? They’d nail any one who said they were legitimate, right? Then explain this: Lexington Law results
Please, explain how a company has been operating for over 18 years (since 1991) helped over 600,000 people and removed more than 4 million items (since 2002 alone). And the FTC just happened to “miss” them.
Explain that, Elizabeth. Then stop praying on *people’s fears* and calling it “reporting”. Just stick with the facts and ABC News will be a little more respectable.
